SUMMARY:Cosmic Gardens – Immersive concert at Lincoln Center
DESCRIPTION:French musical duo Cosmic Gardens (Clément Mercet & Ugo Charron) is exploring a new kind of self-proclaimed Organic Indietronica. On June 16, as part of the festival “Summer for the City” at Lincoln Center, their melodies will send your spirit to the Moon while their Hispanic cords will root your soul in Mother Earth. And for the first time, they will perform their set with a visual and olfactory background, meant to deepen the connection to the music and the moment. \nTwo scents, composed by band member and MANE perfumer Ugo Charron, will be accompanying the show, two scents which embody the alliance of acoustic and electronic instruments in the duo’s music, as well as a more internal and philosophical antagonism: “We want to explore the struggle between the attachment we have to nature, the endangered beauty of our planet, and the urge to explore the universe, to discover what lays behind the stars” explains Clément Mercet. \nThe first formula, fully biodegradable, is inspired by the rainforest. The green smell of grass, the aquatic and juicy scent of melon, flowers such as magnolia and hyacinth, bask on an earthy and aromatic base made of patchouli, cypress, basil and lavender. The second scent, all synthetic, was partly inspired by astronauts’ recollections of the smells of outer-space. This uncanny composition mixes metallic notes of gunpowder with woody intonations and molecules evoking rhubarb and hazelnut. “The idea was to baffle the audience with something strange but not unpleasant” the perfumer says. \nBy engaging the audience with this multi-sensory narrative, Cosmic Gardens offers a new, meaningful way to experience music, and hopes to imprint unforgivable memories. \nThis event is also part of Summerfest 2022 presented by France Rock. \nMusic by Clément Mercet & Ugo CharronFragrance composition by Ugo Charron, sponsored by Mane USAVisual animations by Valentin Delouis \nThis event is free and open to the public.
